Keynotes Technologies Ltd pride themselves, with ensuring electrical equipment, leads and appliances, are checked in accordance with IET COP 5th Edition, wherever possible.

We use a 'common sense' approach, whilst ensuring high standards are met. 

​

All tests include green stickers for passed items, a detailed report and a certificate for your records. Any failed items will have a red 'fail' sticker applied and should not be used, until repaired and retested, where applicable.

​

Wherever possible and where we confident to be able to carry out a repair that would enable the item to pass, we will include within your fee - fuses and plug rewires will be included, but certain repairs may attract a small fee to cover the cost of any product(s) we may need to use to carry out a repair. We will always keep you in the loop.

We have 3 pricing options available:

Walk in - or drop off service 

£35 one off fee, to cover the time it takes to produce your documents, including a detailed report and a certificate for your records.

Half day rate

We can travel up to 10 miles from our office (CV345AH) and spend 4 hours maximum testing. £150

​

Full Day rate

We can travel up to 10 miles from our office (CV345AH) and spend 4 - 8 hours maximum testing. £250

​

For travel further than 10 miles, we have a mileage fee, set at £2 per mile.

We include the 10 miles each way - so 20 miles in total are included - any additional travel will incur the above fees.

Parking - Where applicable, parking charges will be added to your invoice. 

​

Average test rates

Test rates (tests carried out per hour) can vary and are massively impacted by how you present your items to us, to be tested. 

Where items are laid out, untangled and ready to test, we can test at a higher rate. It makes sense!

Our average test rate for the perfect job, is anywhere between 10 and 15 items per hour.

Extra help required

For larger jobs, where we may struggle to complete your tests in one day (Using our average test rate) We may be able to utilise one of our employees to come and assist. We will work together to ensure we are working as efficiently as possible. 

Where we deem this necessary, a £50 per day fee will be added to your invoice, this is to help us with the costs of employing another person, to get the job done.

This may be applicable for jobs where we will be with you for more than a day, or for any jobs that may have over 100 items to test. 

​

We will advise you accordingly and the ultimate decision is yours. Please keep in mind, that if we do not manage to complete your job in the estimated time for sole person testing, you may face extra days at the above costs.

​

Finally, we are PATTA members, which ensure we work to high standards and to the practices set out by them. We are duty bound to inform you that we DO NOT test fixed appliances - we only test items that are plugged in to our UK mains network. 

We do have a variety of adaptors, so are able to test a range of leads, devices and appliances.
