How airtight is your building?
Having an airtight building helps to reduce your energy consumption. We check for leaks through windows, door frames, walls and more using the Pulse method. A non-destructive approach to getting results, without damaging your property.
Pulse is a portable compressed air-based system that is used to measure the air leakage of a building or enclosure at a near ambient pressure level of 4Pa.
In the UK, the system is a recognised air pressure testing methodology under both Part L1A building regulations and PAS 2035 retrofit guidelines.

U-value Calculations
How efficient are your walls and floors?
We use Heat3D from Build Test Solutions, to determine how well your walls and floors are insulated. Thermology is used to capture the information, using a calibrated target. Reliable and acceptable results are achieved in as little as 45 minutes, from starting the test.
Heat3D precisely measures heat flows and U-values of building elements using a patented, quick, and non-invasive method that follows ISO9869-2.
It can be used to detect heat flow rates, thermal bridging, poorly performing structures, as well as assessing existing levels of insulation.

Keeping the heat in
How well does your property keep out the cold?
Our SmartHTC technology, also from Build Test Solutions, measures how well your building retains the heat you pay for, to warm up your living and working spaces.
We place sensors around your building and where possible, connect to your smart meter(s). The sensors are left for a minimum of 3 weeks - so we can see a true reflection of how quickly (or slowly) your building loses the heat and energy that you work hard, to pay for.
As an added bonus, we can also provide a damp risk assessment, included in the cost.
Getting enough fresh air?
How healthy is the air you breathe?
It is vital to your health and well-being, to ensure the air you breathe is of good quality. Having an airtight building reduces the energy bills, but you have to consider balancing that with having enough fresh air - to live comfortably and healthily. We use the Ventiflow Mk2 to measure your ventilation and extraction rates - to ensure you're staying within prescribed limits.
We can measure air volume up to 100 m3/hour with the VentiFlow-mk2.
